In keeping with its traditional concern for the future of our planet, the Simón I. Patiño Foundation, which played a pioneering role in introducing ecology to Latin America, is today working in the same field in Europe. |

collaborates with various institutes or organizations involved
in practical ecology, particularly the European Ecology Centre
of Mens, an active and practically-oriented organization
established south of Grenoble (France). Indeed, there is no shortage
of theoretical publications and statements on ecological issues,
but concrete and tangible activities in this field are still rare. |

The Foundation also organizes occasional events on sensitive issues relating this domain, publishes reference books and endeavours to bring together all the living strengths dedicated to this cause, at a practical as well as a theoretical level. |
