As an artistic, cultural and intellectual meeting place, the Espacio Simón I. Patiño focuses on presenting various literary and artistic forms of expression.

With its vast hall, which can easily be converted into an auditorium, the Centre organizes visual arts exhibitions, which are alternated with documentary presentations, chamber music concerts, and recitals, placing particular emphasis on contemporary forms of expression. It is also an ideal place for book presentations and lectures, or conferences and debates on cultural or scientific topics.

Furthermore, it is the seat of the Centre for arts and literature documentation, a unique place in Bolivia that brings together an impressive number of documents on art and literature, international as well as national, which are at the disposal of artists, researchers, students and enthusiasts.
