Situated 30 km north-west of the city of Cochabamba, at an average altitude of 2,600 metres, the Pairumani Model Farm covers an area of 500 hectares, 265 of which are cultivable, the rest consisting of paths and forests.

The farm's activities fall into two main categories: dairy production with a dairy herd of Holstein Frisians, and agricultural production.

Both the farming and the cattle breeding follow natural biological methods making the Model Farm an ecological reference centre for the continent as a whole.

An innovatively designed barn, a natural diet and veterinary care of the same nature, contribute to the production of high-quality milk, transformed into yoghurts and cheese in appropriate processing units.

The Farm also engages in reafforestation of non-cultivable land and research into animal breeding and crop-growing. In the upper area of the estate, an Ecological Park welcomes the numerous tourists visiting the region, informing them and raising their awareness on main ecological issues.
